How To Maintain Weight In Bipolar Disorder ?

Now that I have been diagnosed with Bipolar disorder will I begin to lose weight on my medication once my moods level out? I weigh about 220 and am 19 years old and only 5'5 I want to lose weight but I have never had the self esteem or urge to do so. Will this aid me in my hopes for a healthier body and mind?

Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
The medicines used for bipolar disorder can cause increase in weight. Although you have not stated which medicines you are on, but there is a high chance that they may increase your weight. Adding metformen to your therapy is a good option but nothing can replace regular aerobic exercise.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
