How To Manage Disturbed Sleep While On Seroquel And Clonazepam?
I take 400 mg of Seroquel and 1 mg of clonazepam. I have dreams and many disturbances and I am not able to sleep anymore at night. What can I do? My doctor prescribed trazodone 100 mg for sleep, would it help me to sleep if I start to take it with 200 mg of Seroquel and 1 mg of clonazepam?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
One thing you shouldn't do is think that medications and combinations there of are going to make things better at this point (they will likely simply complicate your picture of insomnia). You should locate a sleep specialist (preferably neurologist) who will work with you to discover the root cause of why you're not sleeping and then, work to do the proper diagnostic testing in order to rule out hormonal or other metabolic problems that could be contributing followed by realigning medications as appropriate to get on a path or recovery or sleep. Trazodone is not a great drug to use as a sleep aid since it has a lot of side effects, can be habit forming, and typically needs to be escalated as time goes on without really treating any root cause.
Hope I have answered your query.
