Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How To Manage The Side Effects Of Increased Coreg Dosage?
I had a third angiogram on Nov. 28 and now my coreg is being increased from a 6.25 dosage twice a day to twice the mg. I now have upset bowels and no zip. My best guess is that it is the coreg as when losartan was increased that did not affect me in this manner. I thought it was what I was eating but don t think so!
I do not think the upset bowels are related to increased dose of Coreg and Losartan. To me, it might be due to any acute viral gastroenteritis. We should consider increased hyper-acidity of the stomach.
I advise to take:
- plenty of fluids, especially water with oral rehydration salts
- probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora
- antacid after meals.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
