Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter is six years old and the past couple of weeks has had severe anxiety constantly washing her hands asking me to smell them, asking if she can breath out of her mouth now asking me if things in the house are clean if I spray something and she breaths am I gonna die what is wrong?
I think, you daughter has underline obsessive compulsive disorder. It is kind of anxiety disorder and for that better to consult a psychiatrist for her mental status evaluation. In OCD, treatment of choice is antidepressant and she would improve with treatment. You can also take help of psychologist for therapy.
Thanks
