My three small children have been seen by a doctor and all had the same symptoms the doctor said it was a virus it ran its course in three days. However i am on day 7 most other symtoms have subsided except for the sore throat and white puss should i see a doctor?
Since you are having a sore throat with white pus. You are suggested to have your throat examined & have swab test & culture done. Pus is indicative of infection.
You will need antibiotics, use warm saline gargle 2-3 times a day or use Listerine water & gargle to get rid of the infection. For pain throat & soreness take Acetaminophen (Tylenol).
Your treatment will depend on whether you have pharyngitis or tonsillitis. Visit ER at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
