How To Overcome Hypertension And Headache After Taking Rasalect For Parkinson S?

My mother is 55 yrs old and is suffering from Parkinson s now she is taking medicine for it namely rasalect 0.5 mg but it s has a side effect of hypertension and headache . And she is experiencing both of the side effects .. How to over come the problem ? Please answer

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your mother's symptoms.

Rasalect (rasagiline) is a good medicine to treat Parkinson's disease (PD), however, has certain side effects.

You can keep a BP record and if it is found to be high, then, you can meet her doctor. There are good medicines to control the high BP.

Headache can be treated with doses of paracetamol as and when needed.

However, if these side effects are difficult to control with medications, then, rasalect may have to be discontinued and replaced with another medicine.
