How To Prevent A Head Injury Bruise From Scarring?

My Daughter hit her head in preschool and teacher never cal.I understand they put ice on it to make the swelling go away.There is a bruse would it leave a scar.Which is red and part of the skin is peeling because we live in the caribbean.I'm going take her to the doctor tommorow.She is asleep now.Please advised me what to put on the bruise so there would not be any scar .

Hello. Thank you for your question. This happens commonly in this age group. A bruise on the head does not typically leave a scar. Bruises heal well in children after several days. As long as not skin was broken as a result of the injury (ie: a laceration), there is no need to worry about scarring.
