Hi,
Severe
head pain lasting for about a minute, from sudden jerk movement of head while playing tennis. The commonest causes I can think about are as follows:
Sudden jerk movement of neck during playing of tennis can cause
nerve pinching which is going through old scarified muscles like
fibromyalgia.
Hypertension.
Any head
tumor or meningeal inflammation.
The short and long term prognosis depends upon the cause to be found Hence I would advise you the following:
Consult your Doctor for preliminary clinical examination including vital like blood pressure, pulse, Neurological examination, examination of the neck muscles and get a referral for investigations and Specialist's opinion.
MRI of brain and neck.
ENT Examination.
Relevant investigations of blood.
All these would give a proper diagnosis, proper management as per the cause found and gives prognosis also.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
