How To Prevent Recurring Staph Infection On Lower Legs?
My husband has a staph infection on both his lower legs presenting as two wounds. He has been prescribed Bactroban Ointment and Flucloxacillin Sodium 500mg to be taken after 6 days of using Oitment if needed. Should he be isolated from other people? What other precautions can we take as per re-infection. Many Thanks Sue Brodie
Hi, I can't predict the age of the patient. Any how, the treatment recommended is fine and you should complete full course of the treatment. Isolation is not required, but the wound should not be exposed directly to other individual. As far as prevention is concerned, you should go for a blood glucose level check up and also take care of the places which are hairy, so that less irritation and breaking of hairs is caused.
