Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

According to guidelines family members can not force patient for de addiction. Same time if patient is having some psychiatric problem which is dangerous for him or family members he can be admitted in psychiatric facility for treatment and de addiction with family members consent.

In current condition, he do not have motivation to quit drinking. In that case primary step is to increase motivation of patient by counseling of patient by trained psychiatrist, then treatment can be planned after discussing with patient.

Wishing you good health and all the best.
