Hi Sainath,
I can understand your concern. It can be very frustrating when you are counting on a home
pregnancy kit and it gives such confusing results. Most of the times, the test gives bold unmistakable lines that do not cause any confusion. However, there are some instances when a second faint line appears.
It is possoble that the instructions on the test kit are not followed correctly. Reading the results too soon or too late can cause confusion. The results should be read in 5-10 minutes after taking test. Otherwise it can give faint lines known as evaporation lines.
The pregnancy hormone
hCG takes about a week's time to reach the concentration in blood that can be detected by pregnancy test. Sometimes, there is low level of hCG in blood that yield a faint line even if the test is positive.
The best time to take pregnancy test is early in the morning right after waking up as the level of hCG is highest at that time. The urine may become diluted during other times of day that may cause faint lines.
If chemical pregnancy occurs, meaning
early miscarriage where
implantation takes place but results in miscarriage, it can show up as faint line.
Thus, it might be positive or negative (chemical pregnancy). In such case, I would advise you to take a different brand of pregnancy kit and test early in the morning and read results in 5-10 minutes. If the same thing keeps happening, you should go for a
blood test to test pregnancy.
I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthCareMagic. Let us know if you have any other confusion.
Best,
