Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi doctor i am arun having amylase 91 and lipase 27 doctors told that both are normal since from 2012 onwards i left alcohal consuming.. also took ultrosound are normal if neccessary to reduce the amylase level if yes na please suggest some natural theropy to reduced the level
Serum amylase level increases in a lot of pancreatic pathologies such as pancreatitis, pancreatic tumour, gall bladder infection etc. But increased amylase level itself is not a risk of developing a disease but a indicator of pancreatic damage. Hyperamylasea itself does not cause any symptoms. To keep the amylase level low you have to take pancreas protective mechanism. Avoid alcohol strictly. Follow a diet low in fat and red meat but high in fiber. Maintain well hydration. But its not necessary to monitor your amylase level routinely if you dont have any clinical symptoms.
