How To Reduce Coughing While Suffering From Diabetes And Eosinophilia?

My mother is suffering from isnophellia for the past several months she is also suffering from brittle diabetes, she is 70 years of age and is now under medication. But she is coughing continously. Is there any good medicine that will soothen her coughing?

Hello,
Your mother can use over the counter medications for cough like a butamirate containing syrop unless contraindicated for other reasons or codeine-containing cough suppressants for more serious cough. This is just the symptom though. There are infectious (and contagious) causes and other causes (other medication or autoimmune for example) for cough and eosinophilia. If the cause of her cough has not been clarified yet then she needs urgent clinical and radiological evaluation. Cough suppressants will make her cough better but won't cure her!
