Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Doctor. My mother is 48 years old weight 62 kgs. her blood sugar is absolutely normal and measures 84.5. her bp is also 130/78 at max. 20 days back we checked her blood creatinine as a part of routine checkup and it measured 2.7, her potassium also elevated to 5.7 and haemoglobin was 8.4. after taking some medication and following a diet plan yesterday we again performed the test. her creatinine came to 2.0, potassium was 4.8 and haemoglobin also increased to 10.2. doctor said she is having ckd but at a mild stage now. she is having no symptoms. my question can the creatinine be brought down to a range of 1.5 or normal? Is it possible? Please suggest.
CKD can be verified by kidney size and echotexture on ultrasound, urine Albumin creatinine ratio, fundoscopy to see changes of diabetes & blood pressure on retina. Once diagnosis of CKD confirmed our target is to halt or slow the progression of CKD for which I may suggest - - Diabetes control. - Blood pressure control. - Avoid nephrotoxic medicines like pain killers.
Hope this helps you. If so do vote as helpful.
