My son had Hep c and did the interferon, riboviran incivek treatment. he is now virus free post treatment 6 month blood work shows high levels of billirubin. is this as a result of the treatment or could he have developed Gilberts syndrome? neve had high levels while on treatment.
Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM).As post treatment viral load is not detected then there may be some other reason for increased billirubin, it may be gilberts syndrome or something else for which he requires evaluation. So I will suggest you to to take him to a hepatologist for evaluation. I hope I have answered your query and this will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to answer that too. Remain in touch and get-well soon.
