How To Reduce Pain Due To Severe Sunburn On Leg Back And Cramps?
I have a really severe sunburn on the back of my legs. Every small touch sends me into a world of pain. I can't wear any normal type of pants. I have to lay down on my stomach, I can't even sit up straight. When I walk or stand my calves cramp up and I can't take the pain for more than a second. I have been drinking lots of water to make sure I'm hydrated and also putting aloe on the burns too. None of it seems to help. I'm getting really scared and concerned.
Acute sunburn can be extremely painful and discomforting.
If I was your treating doctor I would have advised you to take an oral steroid in a dose of 1mg/kg/day for a week along with a painkiller like Aspirin or Ibuprofen.
Applying a topical mid-potent steroid rather than aloe vera would help in bringing it down rapidly within 5-7 days.
As a general measure, always remember to use a broad spectrum sunscreen next time you go for sun-bathing.
