How To Reduce Pain From Hernia?

My mother was recently diagnosed with what the doctor called an internal hernia. I took her to the emergency room because she was bleeding profusely in bed and on the toilet. Is this bleeding normal for a hernia? The doctor did not prescribe anything for it and said it would go away. My mother also complains constantly of pain. Is there any way to stop the pain of a hernia? Email: YYYY@YYYY

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Internal hernia has to be corrected surgically, delayed treatment may cause gangrene of bowel. The bleeding may be due to twisting of bowel segments.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
