How To Reduce Pain In Arm?

my husband has a shooting pain in his left arm, when he crosses his leg and pulls it up towards his stomach, the pain goes away, he was at the doctor and they said that it might be back spasms that are pinching a nerve in his arm. when he lays down, he has no pains in his arms, as soon as he stands up the pains shoot down his arm. can you help?

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

After going through your question there is likely possibility of compression
neuropathy in your husband's case.
As his doctor mentioned there might be compression of nerves due to muscle spasm.

He can try some pain killer with muscle relaxant for 4 to 5 days.
If no relief there is need for consultation with orthopedician for clinial examination and depending upon it there may be need for xray of cervical spine (or MRI of cervical spine).
