Now when for instance when I go into mall and walk or stand for 15 to 20 min. My legs start hurting so badly I can hardly get back to car. As we speak I have my foot up and iced. This has been going on a good while and doctors in my area don t look for a cause. They try to treat symptom with me Medrol dose packs and that helps for a bit but not long. I am 66 yrs old, female. Any suggestions on what route to take

General & Family Physician, Dr. Piyush K's Response
Welcome to HCM. I understand your concern. As per the history of complains you have given i think it could be a case of claudication pain(which means due to insufficient supply of blood and oxygen there occurs swelling of lower limbs) which reduces after taking rest. Also venous thrombosis has to be ruled out-clot formation in veins that is. Best advice for you is to do a both lower limb venous doppler for venous thrombosis and 2 D ECHO and follow up with lab reports to a general physician for further opinion with lab reports. Thanks and regards.
