Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am having upper abdomen pain since monday it s a stabbing pain. i have a specialist apt aug 19th but my pain keeps getting worse. what can i do to help ease the pain? i have tried milk and egg drink, zantac, acid reflux liquid medication. nothing seems to be helping.
You have mentioned upper abdominal pain.Any other symptoms have not been mentioned. History of nausea, vomiting, any radiating pain to the arm should be ruled out. Upper abdominal pain which is stabbing in nature and not relieved by antacids may occur in myocardial infarction.I would suggest you take an ECG or Echo to rule out any cardiac causes. Other conditions to be ruled out may be appendicitis or diverticulitis.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
