Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I got a wax burn about a week back on my upper lip... Now it s completely healed and no extra skin is left on it.... The only thing is that there js some pigmentation in the burnt area.. .Could u please suggest a cream that would reduce this pigmentation ?
As per your query you have pigmentation on upper lip after wax burn is because of excessive inflammation of area after application of hot wax. Need no to panic about it as this pigmentation is not permanent and its color and texture will go away.
I would suggest you to take home remedy first i.e boil water and add lemon juice and glycerin in equal amounts. Store it and apply twice daily, it will remove left over scar. Apply lotion or cream that contains alpha hydroxy acids and spread this over the scarred area to help reduce its appearance by exfoliate the skin, sloughing away dead tissues and stimulating the growth of new skin.
Apply ice immediately after waxing to cool down the area. Apply honey dipped in cotton on pigmented area and your symptoms will resolve in 1 week.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
