How To Reduce Swelling In Hand Which Is Causing Slight Pain In Fingers?
my boy friend had hurt is hand sunday and it is swelling. we have been putting ice on it and rapping it up! we don t have insurance and the swelling doesn t seem to be going down, I believe its because of him sing I at work. He can move all his fingers, in a bit of pain..
depending on how the injury occurred the biggest concern would be for fracture or damage to a nerve or circulation. if he is able to move his fingers that is a good sign. at this time, you can try Tylenol (Acetaminophen) taking care that you do not take more than 3,000 mg of Tylenol in 24 hours. provided he does not have known stomach ulcer or reflux disease, you can also try Ibuprofen ( generally 400 to 800 mg three times daily with food) for a couple of days. keep that hand elevated as much as you can to decrease swelling. if things don't get better in a couple of days, you should see a doctor to have the hand examined.
