When I run I stub my right foot and have almost fallen on my face. There is a tightness running down right inside thigh. This tightness is not always prevailent when I am walking or running but can feel it later. The tightness is slight but I am aware of it. Are there exercises I can do?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
You seem to have severe muscle strain while falling down leading to myalgia with inflammation&probably trauma to few muscle fibers. It would take 2 weeks time minimum to recover. Take rest, hot or cold packs. Application of muscle relaxantointments like Relaxyl, over the counter, pain medicine over the counter (Ibuprofen 400mg after food), calcium and vitamin D supplements should help. Excessive trouble or no relief in a week demands consultation of expert.Consult a orthopedic surgeon.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
