How To Reduce Toe Cramping When Diagnosed With Edema And Parkinson S?
Extreme toe cramps patient has Parkinson s, edema in legs (to the point of liquid leaking through skin on left calf), bad knees and is 65 and about 60lbs overweight Cannot Stand without assistance. Cannot sleep because of cramps. What can she take to relive cramping. Gets stressed and short of breath because of it.
A diuretic (furosemide or torasemide) would help reduce the leg swelling or fluid retention. It is also necessary holding his legs in upper position in order to help the venous drainage. Regarding the pain, I would recommend adding Gabapentin to his current therapy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
