Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
Acne and oily skin go hand in hand. While cleansing is an important part in the management of acne and oily skin, it should not be harsh.
Soaps leave the skin feeling dry. This in turn causes rebound oiliness an therefore is counterproductive.
I would suggest you to use a gentle cleanser for face wash e.g cetaphil cleansing lotion, twice daily.
Topically you may use either clindamycin Or
benzoyl peroxide over active acne.
A topical retinoid e.g Adapalene gel may be used at night over the ahole affected area. It is comedolytic and therefore treats existing acne as well as prevents new acne.
Topical retinoids are also helpful in resolving Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation/PIH.
I suggest that you visit a
dermatologist in your region. Your dermatologist will assess the severity of your acne and advice accordingly.
Your dermatologist may also start you on
oral antibiotics e.g Doxycycline Or
Azithromycin if your acne is inflammatory.
You may also opt for a few sessions of
salicylic acid chemical peeling from your dermatologist. Salicylic acid inhibits oily production and also removes excess oil from the pores.
