How To Relieve Allergic Rash Due To Amoxicillilin?
My child had an allergic rash due to amoxicillilin on Sunday, 3 days after ending a 10 day course of amoxicillin due to a broken tooth. Rash was very itchy. Rash was mostly gone by Wednesday. Today presendted with pinpoint rash on chest and face, worse on the face. Benadryl did not have any impact on this latest version of the rash
A person who develops amoxicillinrash will usually find that the rash disappears when they stop taking the medication.
In mild cases with no additional symptoms, a doctor may not prescribe any treatment.
Continue Benadryl to relieve the itch If the rash is itchy. You do not need any other drug to treat the rash.
A doctor may also recommend a steroid cream to help get rid of any itchiness that continues after the rash has gone. Usually, it goes away in 3 days but can last from 1-6 days. Don't worry.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
