How To Rule Out Psoriasis?

I noticed what I thought was a ring of psoriasis on my left rib cage (because I have psoriasis, that s what I thought it was). My topical medicines don t work on it. It is in the shape of an oval, a bunch of small red patches that make up the ring of the Oval shape. It has been there now for 5 weeks and getting itchier. Wondering if this will go away, if I need to see my dermatologist for different medications, what is this basically?

hi. I have read your question and understand your concern.

red oval itchy lesions can also be due to fungal infection. to rule out fungal infection you can get a fungal scraping done. it's an office procedure, painless and the results are available within half an hour.

I suggest you visit your dermatologist and get the lesion examined. discuss about scraping with your doctor.

hope this helps. for any further questions please get back to us. thanks.
