How To Slow Down Breathing Rate While Doing Hot Yoga?
Hello Dr When I am doing hot yoga and very fast my breath is going high how can I slow down and normal my breath in as soon as possible and safe way and how we recognized my lungs is ok or some problems I am 44 years old and Dr you treat my father Manilal patel in Mar 2014
Hello and thank you for the question. Breathing is one of the most important elements of a yoga practice. If your breathing isn`t relaxed, your body and your mind can`t relax.Practically speaking, breathing slowly can lower your heart rate, brings oxygen to the lungs. So let me advice you that your breath should be slow, deep and even because each movement is linked to a breath.Always start with an easy breathing excercise, inhale to lengthen/expand/open in a pose;exhale to fold/twist/relax.With twisting poses, you inhale as you"undo"the twis, then exhale as you return to a neutral position. Best regards.
