Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi My Microalbumin is 192.9 and I know it should be less than 20.0
I need to know what foods can make these levels rise. I was told for one;
at breakfast I eat 3 egg whites every morning. I'm over weight and need to lose 80 pds. diabetic level is 7.4 trying vigorously to reduce this through diet and excercise, and I'm fist stage kidney diease.
I'm petrified as my mother is a dialysis patient and her brother(now deasease) was and her mother was when their wasn't medication for at her time. Please help or direct me other than my doctor which I see regularily, what foods to avoid til my levels are normal and my goal is to reduce my medications down to zero. Thank You, waiting fiercely for a reply. Sheri
You need to control your blood sugar levels in order to prevent further progression of kidney disease. Limit intake of proteins and include only good quality proteins (lean meat, chicken and fish, low fat milk/curd/cheese) as too much protein puts a load on the kidneys. Avoid foods with poor protein quality like pulses, beans and legumes. You can have eggwhites but 3 eggwhites eaten alone at breakfast is too much. Have one eggwhite and distribute protein foods throughout the day. Cut down on your intake of salt to control blood pressure and have a low fat, fibre rich diet which will not only help in managing blood glucose levels and help in weight loss, but lower cholesterol too.
