Then next step would be to resolve in front of that person to stop or reduce the number of times you repeat the habit. Meanwhile keep yourself as busy as possible with all kinds of hobbies and don't be alone. Most of these habits are a result of loneliness or more private time. Develop your physical and spiritual health. Be truly accountable to your friend and ask that person to challenge you as well. Go gadget free to make things easy for yourself. Practice a new hobby.
