Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What causes clear stringy mucus (or phlemn) from my gum line? I have been brushing that area when I brush my teeth and use Listerine Zero mouthwash to help avoid germs. It is not a disturbing amount but constant for months now. I want to know the source so I can work on getting rid of it the right way.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain mucous coming from gumline seems to be pus and it is most commonly seen in case of deep gum infection..
As it is from.months it has become a chronic case and can deeply damage the gums as well as the underlying bone that can cause loosening of teeth in future..
So I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray can be done..
You can be advised deep Scaling and curettage followed by a course of antibiotics and antiseptic gum paint massage and antiseptic mouthwash gargles.. Doing warm saline gargles can also be helpful...
Hope this helps..
Regards..
