Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was put on Concor 2.5mg for my palpitations. I was asked to take the medication once a day and at any time after food but at the same time every day. I have been taking the medication after dinner every day. Is this the best time to take the medication?
Concor is bisoprolol. It can be taken any with or without food at any time of day but at the same time daily. Food does not affect it effectiveness. It should be taken daily at the same to maintain its uniform blood level in order to effectively control palpitation. It is OK if you are taking it after dinner. Advice 1. Continue Concor as suggested after dinner 2. Avoid smoking, coffee and alcohol 3. Do meditation 4. Avoid strenuous activity 5. Monitor your ECG, heart rate, and blood pressure regularly 6. Monitor your blood sugar regularly if you are diabetic Thanks
