General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I appreciate your concern for HIV.
Since you had sex almost 75 days ago, at that time was she HIV positive?
Because according to your statement she came to know about her HIV status recently.
Presently you do not have any symptoms suggestive of HIV.
The chances of contracting the infection with a single encounter and that too she is not sure of her HIV at the time of encounter are minimal.

Anyhow, the blood tests for HIV can not detect HIV antibody in the blood soon after infection because it takes time for your body to make these antibodies.
In some cases it can take up to six months.
To be more conclusive repeat the tests for HIV at 12 weeks after your risky sexual encounter.

Use single or double condom to protect your self from sexually transmitted diseases, avoid multiple partners.
Hope this answers your query.
A feedback is appreciated.
