Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I. Believe I have been exposed to low levels of carbon monoxide from a gas fireplace for quite awhile. Le gels went up recently when cold weather arrived. During an annual physical 11/30, A-fib was detected. I had a-fib some years ago but had a catheter ablation seemed to solve the problem My question is what diagnostic test would confirm my exposure?
As a physician i would like to tell you that you should take a Carbon Monoxide Blood test to determine the poisoning by CO. I would also like to tell you that it will be unreliable it the CO is already gone out of your system.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Abhijeet
