Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was looking for some information regarding some new debris and floaters I am seeing in my left eye. There was no injury, I was sitting at my desk at work and noticed some wormy looking floaters, almost like a tiny blood vessel and thousands of speckles floating that look like sand in water. No pain, no visual change of appearance to my eye.
Since you have noticed floaters though there is no pain or visual changes yet you should visit an ophthalmologist and get your eye examined clinically. You will have to go through different types of eye examinations like Visual acuity, assessment of refraction, color vision testing, retinal examination (direct / indirect), screening for glaucoma, etc.
If the treating doctor finds any floaters close to the retina or any other pathology that is causing you discomfort, you will be treated accordingly by medicines or surgery. Get examined and treated, neglecting may lead to retinal detachment or blindness.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
