Hi Doctor, I have been detected PCOD and have irregular periods. Is Yamini LS correct medicine for this? I am a bit doubtful . I had high S. Prolactin levels for which i had cabgolin for 6 weeks and now its lower than normal. I have stopped cabgolin. Is Yamini LS correct medicine for my case?
PCOD is controllable disease where you can only control the condition and reduce symptoms since there is no complete cure. Hormonal pills are the common medication given. Treatments include birth control pills to regulate periods. Since you have been started with combined pill Yamini LS, I would suggest you to continue the same.
Metformin is also given to prevent diabetes / insulin resistance. Hormonal pills can treat symptoms such as irregular periods, acne, excess hair, and elevated blood sugar. Fertility treatments and myoinositol and certain other supplements will have to be taken in case you are planning for pregnancy. Monitor the results for 2 to 3 cycles.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
