I am 6 months pregnant with my 2nd child, I am 36, I have been diagnosised with pulm TB stage 3 I have a 4 yr old daughter, I have started medications since a week. Please let me know how do I safe guard my family from spreading TB. also what is the risk to my unborn child
The main issue would be to be treated adequately with an anti-tubercular regimen that treats you adequately and prevents transmission of TB to your unborn child. As for worries about transmission to family members, it would be best to get admitted in a hospital and get elaborately evaluated to make sure yours is not an open case. If at all it is, then getting admitted to a TB facility would be wise. The infection is air-borne and so it is not easily to prevent members from getting it unless you are safe to be around them.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
