How To Treat A Bruise And Lump On Forehead Caused Due To Injury?
My two year old fell and hit her head hard on the floor two weeks ago it was a bruise with A lump on her forehead the bruise went away and the lump went down but is still there she have no sign or sysmtoms or a skull fracture but I'm still very concern because she have been fussy a lot but then again she have been acting very normal but cries for everything
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain lump on the forehead of your daughter is due to injury to the soft tissues leading to rupture of blood vessels causing bruising and hematoma formation, and there is accumulation of inflammatory cells and exudate, damaged muscle fibres, ruptured blood vessels and they all get accumulated at the site of injury and many a times the hematoma gets encapsulated leading to formation of a hard lump and it takes a longer time to resolve and can even take months.. As it is reducing in size and your baby is also acting normal you need not to worry as there seems nothing serious.. You can do alternate warm and cool compresses over the lump for faster healing. If there is pain you can apply a numbing gel and also give her tylenol..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora
