Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I hit my head hard with a metal clip on the back of a basketball court. There is a bump on the middle of my head medium sized. Should I continue to ice it? Will the bump be gone eventually or stay there? Do I need a doctor? Please I want the bump to go away.
If it is still hurting then it would be best to continue to apply ice. The ice would also help reduce the swelling
The bump should reduce with time, this can take weeks to months in some cases. Bumps or swelling form as part of the body's inflammatory response to trauma.
The use of anti inflammatory pain medication, even if the area is not painful would also help to reduce the swelling.
I hope this helps
