How To Treat A Bump On Left Side Of Head Caused After Injury?

My 2 year old daughter was near someone while they were bowling and they knocked her a little with it last night. She has been acting normal but was a little woozy immediately after being hit with the bowling ball. She didn t have a bump last night. As of this afternoon she has a bump on the left side of her head and a slight black eye on the opposite side of her face. Should we take her in or is she ok?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.

If she is normal with mild dizzy then there is no need to be worried.

Also, there is no swelling or bump over the site of hit means there should not be any soft tissue injury.

Perhaps if the dizziness is not troubling her day to day work, then you may wait for few days.

Until then she may take proper hydration and electrolyte balance with some symptomatic antihistamines treatment like betahistidine. Do not panic.

However if the problem is persistent, you should see a doctor at the earliest and get evaluated further.

Regards,
