How To Treat A Child Suffering From Both Diarrhea And Vomitings?
My son has been throwing up for 27 hours. He went 12 hours of that without throwing up. We thought he was over the bug . It started back! The vomit has been yellow looking but this last time it was brownish red. He had diarrhea with the vomiting for 8 hours. He hasn t eaten during this time frame either but we have managed to get some fluids in him (ginger ale) but he refused to drink anything for the past 9 hours. His fever (checked by his ear) was 99.9 13 hrs ago and I gave him tylenol. There have been other students in his Kindergarten (he s 6yrs old) that have been throwing up. If he throws up blood, what do I do? At this point, should I take him to the emergency room. He says his stomach hurts but it doesn t seem to have him bending over in pain. (appendix?) Please help us!!!

Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query.Your kids problem is most likely gastroenteritis.it can be viral or bacterial. The main goal of therapy is to rehydrate by fluids. You can use ORS and tender coconut water for that.If vomiting and diarrhea continues then consult your doctor as he might need antibiotics antiemetics and intravenous fluids..Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
