How To Treat A Hole In The Jaw Leading To Severe Pain?
my daughter has what looks to be a tiny hole in side of her gum, and it has hurt off and on over the last few days mostly when she eats something hot or salty. Then she just started having some pain in her jaw. do you have any idea what it could be, should I take her to her dentist tomorrow? She goes to the dentist regularly every six months and has had no problems.
As per your complain a small hole in her gum can be a gum boil or a dental abscess..
As the pain is progressive to the entire jaw it is more probably a dental abscess due to a decayed tooth leading to formation pus near the root apex of tooth leading to pain..
If there is no infected tooth then infection in gums can lead to formation of a gum abscess or a gum boil..
I would suggest you to consult a dentist and get a checkup done to rule out the cause and if it is a dental infection root canal treatment or extraction can be helpful..
In case of gum infection professional cleaning can be relieving..
Hope your query is solved..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
