How To Treat A Large Lump On Shin Due To An Injury?

After a fall down several ice covered brick steps my knee shin and ankle were injuries this was two weeks ago - all are much improved except one of two large lumps on shin -skin was scraped but not broken - I treated injury with rice method - could not see a dr because ice everywhere and probably would have fallen again. One lump still on shin and about same size as was 2nd day thought this to be a soft tissue injury - other than time is there anything I should do or go to a dr? Friend have suggested a concern about a blood clot - is this probable?
