I'm a 41 year old female, I have a pulling sensation under my left armpit. It looks like a vein with a little pea-sized lump at the end of it. I didn't notice the vein until after Sunday. I played tennis on Saturday evening (I hadn't played in years). Could I have strained a muscle or vein? The little lumps sometimes gets bigger but they usually go away. This is the first time I've actually seen the vein/chord and felt the whole pulling sensation. Is this common, something to worry about?
Hi, Thanks for writing in to hcm. I understand your problem and will try my best to help you out.
I would like to know if the lump is painful? if yes in that case it might be an inflammed lymph node suggesting local infection. You could consult aphysician and take a antibiotic course like ciprofloxacin 500mg twice daily for 5 days along with anti inflammatory medications like diclofenac 50mg once daily for 3 days.
If the pea sized swelling is not painful then kindly visit a general surgeon for the examination to rule out the nature of the swelling.
