I have a lump on the back of my neck. I have had it for about 6 - 8 months now. When I wake up in the morning it is usually pretty inflamed and big but it shrinks as the day goes on. It causes me no pain, it is not tender or anything else, it just concerns me. What should I do
Hi! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
Your history and description of the lump is confusing. You have mentioned it as inflamed, but say that it is painless which is quite contradictory to each other. Anyways, it seems to be a benign lesion or cyst, which got inflamed due to chronic irritation. I would suggest you to get your lump assessed by a general surgeon of your area, and get it treated properly as it might not be possible to diagnose it over the net.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
