How To Treat A Painful Burn With Pus Discharge Despite Using Neosporin?

MY FRIEND HERE I WORK WITH, IS A POLICE OFFICER PART TIME AND HAD AN AIRBAG GO OFF ON HIS SHIN DURING A CHASE. IT LOOKS LIKE HE RECEIVED A NASTY BURN. IT IS PAINFUL, WITH YELLOW PUSS COMING OUT. HE WENT TO HIS GENERAL DOCTOR AND WAS TOLD TO KEEP NEOSPORIN ON IT. IT S BEEN 7 DAYS AND IT IS GETTING WORSE. ADVISE?

Pain and yellow pus points towards a bacterial infection...Stop applying neosporin as it contain steriod which may increase the infection...He ahs to take oral antibiotics like cap Augmentin-625 three times a day for 5 days along with topical mupirocin cream...For the pain take NSAIDs like tab Aceclofenac with milk twice a day...
