How To Treat A Painless Lump At Lower Part Of Abdomen And Groin Area?
I have a lump or protrusion on the very lower part of my abdomen, maybe even groin area, it is right above my vagina more to the right side. I just noticed it today in the shower. I felt it and it was painless and squishy. I am worried that it may have something to do with my reproductive parts or maybe intestines.
Hello and welcome to HCM, A lump in the lower part of abdomen appears to be a superficial swelling. Visceral organs like reproductive tract or intestines are unlikely to produce a superficial swelling. Swellings in the groin area are commonly due to lymph node enlargement. Is there history of urinary tract infection or any infectious focus in the lower limb? Lymph node enlargement is commonly seen in infections. A clinical assessment and aspiration cytology of the swelling is required. Aspiration cytology is an office procedure wherein a needle is inserted into the swelling, cells are aspirated and stained with appropriate stains. The stained cells are examined microscopically to assess the nature and origin of the swelling. Further management can be done after clinical assessment and relevant investigations.
