How To Treat A Prolonged Sore Throat Along With Chest Pain And Body Aches?

A went to the doctor over a week ago with a sore throat and also for coughing up yellow mucus. It started off with body aches, low grade fevers, and a very severe sore throat which subsided after a day. But then I started getting chest pain (probably from coughing) so I decided to get it checked. He just did a physical examination and listened to my chest and just told me I had a cold. Since then, my coughing has gotten worse. A LOT worse. I cough all day at work. Cough medicine does not help one bit. I m also still coughing up yellow mucus and it s been about two weeks now. My coughing also wakes me up at night. It s driving me CRAZY! My head hurts a bit too. Like a pressure headache. Should I go back to the doctors? Or ride it out? I don t know what to do.

All the history you describe suggest to infection of the lower respiratory tract. Dear, you have to visit a good physician and get medications after due check up. Why to wait more if anyway you have to go for the advice.

2 weeks of cough with sputum might turn to tuberculosis which also have fever particularly in the evening. There might be pneumonia which can be cured at this sage without much medications.

so it advisable to go for a good chest physician and git a proper check up done.
