Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I accidentally pricked myself with a safety pin on the side of my middle finger nail seven days ago, I felt it go pretty deep, but my finger showed no sign of the prick- not even any blood. Since then it has swollen, and the pain gets worse everyday. It is currently throbbing. How do I treat this?
Thank you for asking! It may need dressing and debridement. Topical antibiotics with dressings and cleaning the wound and seeking an ER visit would help. Throbbing is just the pulse. Inflammation needs an examination to see if there is any drainable stuff. Get a visit if any intervention needed good other wise some anti inflammatory and some topical care of the wound. I hope it helps
