How To Treat A Tonsil Stone At The Back Of The Tongue?
I have a lump in my throat on the back of my tongue. I stick my finger in as far as I can and can BARELY touch it. I have coughed up a white/yellow chunck about as big around as a pencil eraser. I am a smoker and I have had what my ears nose and throat dr called a tonsil stone. The stone has been on there 4 times and I have got it off. This lump down in my throat on my tongue is large enough that it rubs my throat and drives me crazy. It is not painful.
So sorry to hear about your problem and will try my level best to resolve it..
As per your complain yes, it is true that a white/yellow chunk that is round and big seems to be most probably tonsil stone, also known as Tonsillolith.. They are formed due to calcification of food particles and dirt that gets accumulated over the tonsils and are a potent cause for recurring inflammation of tonsils and bad breath.... I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and the physician can remove it manually.. You can be advised to gargle with 1;1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water.. Do warm saline gargles.. Limit intake of dairy as it is high in calcium and can accelerate the stone formation.. You should also always gargle after meals.. Drink plenty of water..
Any further questions are welcome..
Regards..
